New technologies and advancing digitalisation come along with many challenges as well as new claim scenarios for insurance companies.

In future, fewer car accidents will be caused by human errors, but by autonomous decisions of car driving assistance systems. A professional claims management as a result of cyber-attacks or data-breaches requires immediate and often international reactions including legal, technical and communicative expertise. Digital sale and distribution raise many questions with regard to supervision law, insurance contract law and data protection law. And even more legal issues must be considered when analysing data in order to calculate behaviour-related insurance tariffs.

BLD’s New Technologies Centre (NTC) has been established to provide comprehensive legal advise to our clients. Under the umbrella of the NTC we align the expertise of our forensic lawyers specialising in different service lines such as Liability, Property and Motor as well as the knowledge of our Compliance, Data Protection, Distribution, Competition and Regulatory Law teams.
