BLD Law Firm of the Year 2019 for Insurance Law

On 24 October 2019 the JUVE Awards 2019 for law firms and inhouse teams were presented. It was the third time that BLD Bach Langheid Dallmayr received the award as law firm of the year for insurance law.

As main reason why BLD has been market leader over years, JUVE sees the firm's strength in taking up market trends such as cyber risks and being able to develop successful consulting solutions. It is also highlighted that BLD is consistently acting as legal counsels in law suits on fundamental issues for the insurance industry, BLD has successfully positioned itself in the handling of complex major claims and BLD manages the volume business for insurance companies. When giving reasons for the award, JUVE underlined that there had been a successful change of generation not only at the top of the firm but that they increasingly received recommendations for younger partners from the market as well.

JUVE "Handbuch Wirtschaftskanzleien 2019/2020" emphasises not only BLD's top position in insurance litigation and product advice, but also the high competence in company-related advice of insurers as well as in commercial litigation (product liability and D&O). According to JUVE, BLD's strength is founded on a "deep understanding of the industry", which stems from its leading position in insurance litigation.

In the area of insurance litigation and product advice, JUVE names above all Dr. Rainer Büsken, Björn Seitz, Prof. Dr. Dirk-Carsten Günther, Bastian Finkel, Dr. Joachim Grote, Dr. Martin Alexander, LL.M., Dr. Jürgen Veith and Michael Jakobs, LL.M. as lawyers who are often recommended.

Dr. Joachim Grote and Dr. Martin Schaaf are especially mentioned by JUVE for corporate advice to insurers.

Further listed are Dr. Rainer Büsken and Dr. Martin Alexander, LL.M., as often recommended lawyers for product liability lawsuits as well as Björn Seitz and Bastian Finkel as leading experts in D&O.
