Dr. Franz König, LL.M.

Dr Franz König, LLM, is a partner in the Financial Lines Department at the Cologne office. He is a Specialised Insurance Lawyer whose work focuses in particular on advising and monitoring claims in D&O and cyber insurance. In recent years, Dr Franz König has frequently been involved in advising D&O insurers on the defence of asserted claims against board members in connection with cum-ex transactions. As a cyber expert, Dr Franz König advises our clients extensively on coverage and liability issues in the event of cyberattacks, including insured losses/costs, business interruptions, official reporting obligations, the defence against claims, e.g., arising from supplier relationships, data protection issues and recourse options. He also handles incident response management, including the coordination of experts, such as IT forensic specialists and communication experts.
