Communication via e-mail has many advantages. On the one hand, it is a very simple and, on the other hand, a very fast form of communication. However, despite all the advantages, one must also take into account that this communication channel cannot be classified as secure, especially with regard to personal data. There is therefore a real risk that the content of an e-mail - without special protection mechanisms - can also be read in transit by people for whom the transmitted information is not intended.
Since data security and confidentiality is one of BLD's highest priorities, we only send encrypted e-mails as a matter of principle. In addition to the standard sending of e-mails as encrypted PDFs, we offer our clients three alternative encryption technologies to exclude "reading" by third parties according to today's technical standards. These encryption technologies supported by us are PGP, S/MIME or TLS. You can find more detailed technical information on these encryption technologies on Wikipedia for PGP, S/MIME and TLS.
If you would like to arrange one of these three encryption technologies with us, the corresponding technical requirements must be implemented on your side and we need you or your IT department to fill out and sign the form available here. Please send this form to our IT department at IT@bld.de.
If you have any questions about e-mail encryption, please contact Björn Seitz.
