BLD, already represented in Germany at six locations in Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt/M., Berlin, Karlsruhe and Dortmund, is opening a new location in Hamburg at the end of the year. The new office will be located in the Brahms Kontor in the immediate vicinity of the Regional Court and the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court. With this step, BLD is now also represented locally for its clients in Germany's third largest location for insurers.
To start off the new office, Dr. Simon Kubiak (Property Liability / Financial Lines), Karsten Mühlhausen (Property and Transport), Tim Werner (Commercial and Personal Liability, Construction Liability, Motor), Wolf Kindervater, LL.M. (Life and Supervision) and Lars Krohn, LL.M. (Property and Transport, Occupational Disability and Accident) are moving from Cologne to the new location in Hamburg.
The expansion in Hamburg represents a significant step for BLD, as marine business is also to be developed in Hamburg. "The development of the maritime business is to take place internationally together with our cooperation partner DAC Beachcroft, which has also opened or expanded offices in important port cities, such as Singapore," says Managing Partner Bastian Finkel.
The choice of location was also made with regards to attracting young legal talent. The new office manager Dr. Simon Kubiak has clear goals for the near future: "We not only want to be present in Hamburg for our existing clients and attract new clients, but also want to be an attractive employer in the metropolitan region of northern Germany, where many law graduates want to live and work."
