BLD currently has offices in seven German locations – Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt am Main, Berlin, Karlsruhe, Dortmund and Hamburg – and employs a total of more than 200 lawyers. By opening the Leipzig office, BLD will have another office in the east of Germany in the future, covering not only the Leipzig Regional Court and the Leipzig Local Court but also the Higher Regional Courts in Dresden, Naumburg and Jena as well as the Regional Courts in Chemnitz, Dessau, Dresden, Erfurt, Gera, Halle (Saale), Meiningen, Mühlhausen and Zwickau. 

Dr Jens Muschner (insurance law, medical malpractice) will be heading the new office and will also manage the Leipzig office in addition to the Berlin office. The team will be starting with several professionals who have already gained experience at BLD. The Berlin BLD partners Dr Jens Muschner (insurance law, medical malpractice), Oliver Kröger (motor) and Ümit Kaplan (construction insurance, general liability) as well as counsel Runa Stopp (motor) will be responsible for the development of the location from Berlin and will regularly travel to the office in Leipzig. Jantscho Nestorov (health insurance), Katharina Kade (general liability, health insurance) and Johannes Kunz (motor) will round off the starting team in Leipzig which will be joined by Johannes Scheiding (construction liability), who is currently in the process of completing his doctorate.
