The Disability and Accident Insurance department is led by three partners, Michael-A Ernst, Ansgar Mertens and Dr Udo Abel. Our team of specialised and experienced litigation experts, comprising more than 15 lawyers, have been assisting insurers for decades, especially during in-court proceedings in all jurisdictions nationwide. The team members are considered market leaders in Germany due to their many years of experience and specialised insurance law expertise when handling medical assessments. Some of the lawyers are members of the BLD Forensic Claims Center, which is renowned for addressing dubious claims. The department also has a strong voice when expressing legal opinions in the field through its numerous publications and lectures.
